About the YELL2 project

The YELL2 project was a Key Activity 2 Languages Accompanying Measures Project supported by the Lifelong Learning Programme, running from November 2012 to October 2013.

The main aim of the project was to disseminate the results of the European Language Label Award winning "Yell Network" to raise awareness of its main product the Virtual Documentation Centre, which hosts an array of resources designed to:

The consortium of partners from Germany, UK and Turkey, aimed to extend the user base of the Virtual Documentation Centre AND to enhance the resource by gathering additional 'Best Practice' resources from around Europe.

Summary of achievements:
International conference

The YELL2 3-day International Conference took place in Birmingham UK from the 2-5 October 2013, attracting almost 80 visitors in total.

Over 80 NEW best practices:
The project generated over 80 new Best Practice examples from colleagues around Europe, which have since been uploaded to the
Virtual Documentation Centre.

3 international workshops:
Project partners each held a dissemination workshop within their own country, attracting a total over 150 attendees to the events in Izmir Turkey, Regensburg Germany and Nottingham UK.

Network registrations:
In addition to the increased traffic accessing the Virtual Documentation Centre, the number of registered YELL network members increased from 52 to 206 members, a percentage increase of almost 300%.

Monthly e-bulletin distribution:
The monthly e-bulletin created as part of the YELL2 project dissemination strategy has regularly been delivered to over 800 individual subscribers throughout the year.

In-Service Training course:
An additional legacy has been the design and publication of an In-Service Training (IST) course that is built on the ethos and resource base of the YELL2 project. The IST course is currently listed on the European database.
